RI-Presidenter och tema genom åren
I samband med Internation Assambly, där kommande distriktsguvernörer utbildas, presenteras varje år ett nytt RI-tema.
Traditionen att utforma ett nytt tema varje år startade 1949-50 av dåvarade RI presidenten Percy C. Hodgson som presenterade fyra mål för sin mandatperiod.
Bland dem var en bättre tillämpning av principerna om yrkestjänst, världsförståelse och fred genom internationella tjänsteprogram. Även om Hodgesos kungörelse var betydligt längre än dagens kortare teman, har Rotarianernas önskan att fira och stödja sin presidents årliga tjänsteprogram förblivit densamma.
